The Sunday sports dilemma

A lot of good stuff here. Generally speaking, it is sad that it should be considered a dilemma. A challenge perhaps, but it ought to be no dilemma.

Our district cricket team forfeited our semi-final and likely grand final because nearly half of our team were Christians and refused to play on Sundays (semis and grand final played over one weekend). While we expected an angry or disgruntled response from our team mates, surprisingly they respected our decision not to play and the team’s consequent forfeit. It was also a decision that tangibly demonstrated to our team mates (and the other teams) the priority of God and His worship over sport. It was a tough decision, but not a decision we regretted.
