I know few things more grievous than a funeral shrouded in the platitudes of formal religion, overhung with the misery of not knowing and not hoping, because there is no fear of the Lord.

  1. I was at one such earlier this week. Utterly heartbreaking, especially as the wife of the deceased was a believer and had to put up with it all.
