Banner gets Challiesd

with 2 comments

I am not sure ‘Challiesd’ was a word before a few moments ago.  That is neither here nor there.

Banner of Truth do a sponsored post (with a great offer of a free book for those who have never read the Puritans).  As you would expect, it is a puff piece, but at least it has to do with books that are generally worthy of being pushed and should not need to be puffed.

  1. I still vividly remember my first sight of the Banner student sale at the Christian bookshop in Wyndam Arcade in Cardiff. It was like Aladdin’s cave.

    • My father’s study was always well-stocked with Banner titles, so I never had such an awakening. I do remember, though, attending youth conferences during university and blowing large chunks of my Easter earnings. When I started work, and was still able to attend the youth conferences, John Rawlinson was sometimes kind enough to round my purchases down by a few quid and give me two boxes to pack them in!
